Nebraska State Capitol

Designed by the distinguished American revivalist Bertram Goodhue, Nebraska State Capitol is something that will leave you awestruck. The tower has awesome walls with figures of Julius Caesar and Charlemagne as design. Tourists can take advantage of free tours in the different parts of the tower. You should not miss going to the 14th floor of the tower where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery offered by the city. 

Sunken Gardens

Established in 1930, the fascinating Sunken Gardens will please you in many ways. The garden that was renovated in 2004 has three primary gardens: the Healing Garden, the Perennial Garden, and the Annual Garden. Each garden has something to offer. The garden is abundant with roses, tulips, lily pads, perennial plants, and palm blooms. It is easy to go around the gardens because they are relatively small. 

University of Nebraska State Museum

The University of Nebraska State Museum is worth seeing, especially for paleontology enthusiasts. The world's largest articulated mammoth and other fossilized elephants are exhibited in the museum. Aside from the elephant exhibit, the museum is also where you can see the Mueller Planetarium. Do not forget to visit the museum the next time you stroll around the campus. 

Lincoln Children's Museum

Lincoln also has something for the kids. The Lincoln Children's Museum is suited for visitors young and old. It does not only educate but offers interesting and fun things for visitors. Activities in the museum are interactive. It lets the children learn through hands-on experiences. Some of the activities the museum offers include mock-up construction site, miniature city, and hammer walls.

Sheldon Museum of Art

​The Sheldon Museum of Art has 12,000 art collections of different media. The museum is near the University of Nebraska State Museum and while strolling along you can see uncommon sculptures that belong to the Sheldon Museum's collection.  The Sheldon Museum of Art is home to sculptures by Jacques Lipchitz, William Tucker, and Claes Richard Serra. The museum focuses on American Art and some artists in the collection are Georgia O'Keeffe, Andy Warhol, and Mary Cassatt.

Pioneers Park Nature Center

​If you are in for a fun outdoor trip, the Pioneers Nature Center is what you are looking for. You can be one with nature when in the park. Visitors can see bison, elk, and white-tailed deer around the park. There are also caged animals that visitors can see up close in the Nature Center building.
